Jesus took the bread in his hands and gave some of it to his disciples. He did the same with the fish. This was the third time that Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from death. John 21:13-14 |
We are a Christian Church based in Bridgwater, Somerset in the UK.
We would like to welcome you at one of our meetings some time so please get in touch to find out when they are or visit the mid-week and Sunday pages for information related to those days.
We are a modern church making use of modern styles of music and modern technology to enhance our worship. We work hard to ensure that our messages and structure are relevant to today.
We meet mid-week for worship and prayer in peoples homes and encourage people to worship in their own homes on a Sunday.
Honour God through meaningful worship
Support each other through loving
fellowship
Grow into maturity through discipleship
Use our gifts to make
a difference
Share the love of Jesus
Why call it "my church"? We struggled to find a name for our Church and have settled on "My Church". We call it "My Church" because it is a church where everyone can feel welcome and find a place. Of course we follow God's lead and ultimately all church belongs to Jesus Christ.
My Church Bridgwater is about people, not a building or tradition or whose father built the school rooms but about people relating to God.
We believe that the family is very important and we understand that families come in all shapes and sizes. We are committed to building a church that is welcoming and open to families. Children are especially welcome to join us and we are working hard to ensure that they take a priority in all that we plan to do. We are concerned about child safety and will do all we can to protect children when in our care.
We will not force children to believe what we believe but want to create a caring encouraging atmosphere where they can explore and discover the Christian faith so that when old enough they are able to make informed decisions for themselves.
Because of our commitment to the family we are running parenting courses to help.
Our church is lead by Rev Chris Brown. Chris was a Methodist Minister for 10 years after training for ministry at Wesley College in Bristol. He left the Methodist Church to find a way to reach out to more people for whom church has become irrelevant. He has trained as a life coach and runs a stress management consultancy.
